Key agricultural industries work with Staphyt Australasia to identify and resolve commercial production issues.
Examples of this joint approach to research have included collaboration with industries throughout Australia and New Zealand. Commercial outcomes have been achieved for growers in a wide range of crops including apples, broccoli, beans, carrots, corn, peas, potatoes, lettuce, poppies, pyrethrum and tomatoes. Outcomes have included new disease and weed management strategies, new product registrations, improved nutrition programs, alternative seed treatments and improved post-harvest handling.
Collaborative projects are jointly funded by industry and various government research and development organisations:
Depending on the focus of the research, Staphyt Australasia works with industry to obtain funding from organisations such as:
- Horticulture Innovation Australia (HIA) formerly Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL)
- AgriFutures Australia
- Grape Wine Research and Development Corporation (GWRDC)
- Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC)
- Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC)
