Formerly known as Serve-Ag Research, then Peracto, Staphyt Australasia has been conducting trials since 1976 in Australia and New Zealand. Headquartered in Devonport Tasmania, we provide a range of independent research, development and related technical services to agribusiness clients across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
Our specialty services include new product development for agricultural inputs, field residue trials, plant pathology research, laboratory diagnostics, crop variety trials, product registration trials and cooperative research work.
Staphyt is a global leader in agronomic research & regulatory advice, operating more than 70 sites in 20 countries in Europe, Africa (Morocco) and South America (Brazil). With direct locations in both hemispheres, Staphyt is able to propose off-season offers enabling an acceleration of customer’s development.

Tara is based in Devonport and is Lead Study Director for GLP (Residue studies). She joined Staphyt in 2018 as a Study Director. Tara has a PhD in Agricultural Science and experience in a variety of Agricultural environments and business. Tara enjoys the diversity and challenge of conducting GLP research on a variety of crops and looks forward to working with clients to produce high-quality outcomes and meet their requirements for GLP field trials within the GLP management systems.
Jarrod Harvey has taken the reins as Country Manager for NZ operations,
Jarrod is a born and bred New Zealander. After completing his university studies (Bachelor of Agriscience, majoring in agriculture) in NZ in 2013, Jarrod crossed the Tasman to join Peracto’s Devonport site as part of the graduate program in 2014.
After completing this he returned to NZ where he has worked as a Technical Officer, and then more recently a Research Officer.
In his new role, Jarrod is based at Pukekohe and will oversee operations at all NZ sites – Ashburton, Hastings and Pukekohe.
Andrew manages the business, administrative and IT roles at Staphyt Australasia, including development and monitoring of the annual budget process, forecasting, performance tracking, and contract negotiation.
Andrew has been with Staphyt Australasia since 2005 and comes from a business management background in a variety of industries including hospitality and mining.
Bruno joined Staphyt in 2009 in Poland as Staphyt merged with AGROSTAT. He was country manager and key account manager. He arrived in Tasmania as Staphyt Australasia Business Unit Director. He arrives in Tasmania as Business Unit Manager for both Australia and New Zealand in mid 2018, based in Devonport head office.
Hannah is based in Devonport and manages Staphyt Australasia Quality Functions. Hannah comes to us with eight years’ experience working with Quality Management Systems in a variety of industries.
Hannah provides the direction for our GLP compliance procedures and ensues our quality standards are of world class. Her systems and quality background provide essential support to many aspects of the company including leadership in the important WH&S area.
Tony’s professional career started as a member of the Graduate Program at Peracto, before leaving the company in 2014. With experience working for both governmental and private CRO organisations, he re-joined the now Staphyt team in 2019 in a combination of senior roles.
Tony has been an active member of the Client Support Team, working closely with our existing clients to serve their needs best.
Melita’s agriscience career started in Tasmania conducting field trials for crop protection products before moving into Regulatory Affairs. With over 16 years’ experience in the Australian and New Zealand regulatory environments, she brings a wealth of knowledge to clients seeking registration of new active ingredients or defence/extension of existing products.
Melita is committed to supporting our clients through the complete registration process, from the initial planning stages right through to dossier preparation, submission and post-registration compliance.
Olivier Marchioro has a DESS (Master’s Degree) in plant protection and breeding and joined Staphyt in 2005 and has been Staphyt General Manager since 2009.
